Job summary

Machinify is seeking a Senior Data Engineer (Analytics) to turn messy operational data into certified models and actionable metrics. You will define governance, build the visualization layer, and ensure observability for models used by finance, operations, and client teams.

You will work on real-time calls with stakeholders, model data across a governed architecture, and drive AI-assisted automation to repeatable analytics workflows. Strong SQL, dbt, and BI skills are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years across analytics engineering, BI engineering, data engineering, or business analysis.
• Expert SQL and dimensional modeling instincts.
• Production dbt: models, tests, macros, exposures, documentation, and CI.
• Hands-on with a cloud lakehouse or warehouse (Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, or Redshift).
• Strong visualization talent with Power BI; Looker/LookML, Tableau as substitutes.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery with business stakeholders and translate needs into acceptance criteria.
• Model noisy healthcare operational data into certified dimensional models across our Databricks bronze → silver → gold architecture in dbt and SQL.
• Own metric definitions and governance: one measure, one definition, one place.
• Build and own the visualization layer: Power BI semantic models, dashboards, and paginated reports.
• Own observability for your models: freshness, latency, anomaly detection, and CI tests.
• Own orchestration for what you build: dbt Cloud jobs, Airflow DAGs, scheduling, dependencies.
• Document design and model definitions for easy handoffs.
• Automate recurring work with AI-assisted workflows.
