Job summary

Machinify is a leading healthcare intelligence company delivering value across the payment continuum. As a Senior Data Engineer (Analytics), you own the layer where messy operational data becomes actionable metrics, building certified models and reports used by business leaders.

You’ll work with finance, operations, and client teams in real time on dbt, SQL, and Power BI within a Databricks environment. Expect a high-autonomy, fast-paced, async culture.

Qualifications

• 6+ years across analytics engineering, BI engineering, data engineering, or business analysis with production ownership of models and metrics.
• Expert SQL and dimensional modeling instincts.
• Production dbt: models, tests, macros, exposures, documentation, CI.
• Cloud lakehouse or warehouse experience (Databricks preferred).
• Strong visualization background with Power BI, DAX; familiarity with Looker/Tableau acceptable.
• Strong stakeholder fluency; ability to translate requests into testable definitions.

Responsibilities

• Run discovery with business stakeholders and translate needs into acceptance criteria.
• Model noisy healthcare operational data into certified dimensional models in a governed semantic layer.
• Own metric definitions and ensure single source of truth.
• Build and own the visualization layer with Power BI dashboards and reports.
• Own observability for models: data freshness, latency, anomaly detection, tests, and CI checks.
• Orchestrate dbt Cloud jobs, Airflow DAGs, and scheduling.
• Create design documents and knowledge base for handoff to future owners.
• Automate recurring work with AI-assisted workflows and supervise AI outputs.
