Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation, a leader in premium specialty alloys, seeks a Chemist III to operate and maintain analytical equipment and support cross-functional groups including Manufacturing, Technical Services and R&D. You will develop plans to meet department goals, implement process improvements, and communicate results through detailed reports and memoranda.

The role requires a four-year chemistry degree and 4–7 years of analytical or process chemistry experience, with independent work

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in Chemistry or related science field.
• 4-7 years of analytical, environmental or process chemistry experience.
• Advanced knowledge of chemical analysis, standards, methods and practices.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain analytical equipment and respond to moderately complex requests.
• Develop and implement plans to support department goals.
• Participate in and may manage projects with Manufacturing, Technical Services, R&D and other functions.
• Identify, recommend and participate in improvements to existing processes.
• Coordinate project results and communicate via detailed reports and memoranda.
• Maintain complete and accurate records and documentation.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
