Kinder’s Premium Quality Seasonings & Sauces, based in Walnut Creek, CA, seeks a Senior Analyst, Demand Spend to support financial reporting for trade and shopper marketing investments. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Finance, Accounting, FP&A, Commercial Finance, Trade Finance, or related analytical roles.
• Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, Food & Beverage, Retail, or related industries preferred.
• Working knowledge of financial reporting, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
• Strong Excel skills, including data organization, formulas, and recurring reports; familiarity with Power Query or Power BI is a plus.
• Ability to work carefully with data from multiple sources and investigate differences before reporting results.
• Familiarity with trade deductions, shopper marketing programs, or trade promotion management systems preferred.
• Strong communication skills to explain results clearly to Finance and cross-functional audiences.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through on recurring deadlines.
• Curiosity about customer programs, promotional spending, and how trade investment affects business results.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain recurring reports on trade and shopper marketing spend, including spend vs. plan, customer summaries, and promotional performance.
• Extract, reconcile, and validate data from the TPM system, ERP, and syndicated data so reporting is accurate and consistent.
• Keep report files, definitions, and supporting documentation organized and auditable.
• Support the monthly trade and shopper marketing accrual process: compile inputs, prepare calculations, compare estimates with actuals, and coordinate review with Accounting and Financial Planning.
• Track spend vs. plan by customer and channel and explain material variances.
• Support broker and distributor settlement validation and deduction research.
• Support month-end close, year-end true-ups, and audit requests.
• Support pre-event estimates and post-event reviews by organizing baseline and incremental sales data.
• Prepare post-event ROI summaries by event, customer, brand, or SKU using established methods, note data limitations, and keep shared files of results and benchmarks up to date.
• Identify programs with results that differ from expectations and prepare clear analysis for Sales and the Trade and Shopper Marketing Finance leader.
• Support scenario analyses for trade rates, promotional mechanics, and customer proposals.
• Track compliance with contracted trade terms and approved funding and work with Sales and Sales Operations to resolve any issues.
