Kinder’s in Walnut Creek, CA, seeks a Senior Financial Analyst for Supply Chain Finance - Sourcing & Procurement. You will analyze material costs, forecast trends, and support supplier negotiations, collaborating with Procurement, Supply Chain Finance, R&D, and Operations in a fast-growing consumer goods environment.

The role emphasizes building scalable financial models, delivering actionable insights, and maintaining data integrity across ERP and planning systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 3+ years of progressive finance, accounting, analytics, procurement finance, supply chain finance, operations finance, or FP&A experience.
• Strong understanding of COGS, purchase price variance, gross margin, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Experience analyzing supplier costs, commodities, packaging, ingredients, contracts, or sourcing initiatives is preferred.
• Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods, food, manufacturing, retail, or another inventory-intensive business is preferred.
• Advanced Excel / Google Sheets skills, including the ability to organize and analyze large data sets and build scalable financial models.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with close attention to detail, data integrity, and reconciliation.
• Ability to communicate complex analysis clearly and work effectively with finance and non-finance stakeholders.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing deadlines, and make progress when data or processes are evolving.
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker is a plus.
• Experience with ERP and planning systems such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Anaplan, or comparable platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Material Cost Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare monthly and weekly reporting for raw materials, ingredients, packaging, components, and other procurement-driven costs.
• Sourcing Analytics & Decision Support: Develop financial analyses for supplier negotiations, requests for proposal, sourcing alternatives, contract terms, and cost breakdowns.
• Savings Validation & Process Improvement: Quantify procurement savings and ensure changes are reflected in forecasts and reporting.
• Reconcile data across purchasing, ERP, item master and financial datasets; resolve data quality issues with business partners.
• Support period-end close through accrual analysis, true-up validation, variance explanations, and review of unusual transactions.
• Create dashboards and recurring reporting that connect sourcing performance to product cost, COGS, gross margin, inventory, and working capital.
• Partner with R&D and Innovation to evaluate cost impacts of reformulations, packaging changes, and new products.
• Prepare clear summaries of financial impacts, key assumptions, sensitivities, risks, and recommended actions.
