Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Senior Analyst, Import/Export Classification, to support the GTC group.

You will apply HTS, ECCN, Schedule B, and international codes to Microchip products, analyze complex specs, and draft CCATS and USCBP requests to ensure compliant classifications. You will collaborate with engineering, product management, manufacturing, logistics, and sales to obtain data, while maintaining accurate records and staying current on regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• 7–9 years of directly related experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years in global trade compliance.
• Strong working knowledge of EAR, CCL, HTS.
• Experience classifying products under ECCN, Schedule B, HTS.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation for classification decisions.
• Experience classifying electronics/semiconductors.
• Experience submitting CCATS requests, including encryption submissions.
• Ability to collaborate cross‑functionally to gather information.

Responsibilities

• Apply U.S. HTS, ECCN, Schedule B, and international codes to products per procedures.
• Review complex specifications to ensure accurate classification and escalate issues when needed.
• Draft and submit CCATS requests with supporting docs for encryption items.
• Draft and submit USCBP binding ruling requests.
