Job summary

Vans, a brand of VF Corporation, is seeking a Regional Senior Analyst – Expense Accounting to oversee expense activities across channels. You will drive month-end close, prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis for Freight, Marketing, Selling, and G&A expenses.

The role partners with Corporate Accounting, FP&A, and Operations to ensure accurate reporting and support SEC filings. Strong GAAP knowledge and data analytics experience are essential in a fast-paced, multi-entity

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including multi-entity or publicly traded environment.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP.
• Experience contributing to month-end close, internal control compliance, and audit support.
• Ability to partner cross-functionally and communicate complex topics to stakeholders.
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Drive month-end close activities with journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Ensure timely reporting of expense components in financial statements.
• Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements.
• Prepare audit documentation and act as expense accounting contact for audits.

The position is responsible for ensuring accurate, consistent, and compliant expense reporting, supporting period-end close activities, and acts as a key business partner to Accounting, FP&A, and Operations teams.Success in this role requires strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage and continuously improve processes while navigating complex business models (e.g., wholesale, DTC, e-commerce, and intercompany transactions).Let’s break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.Key ResponsibilitiesPeriod‑End Close & Financial ReportingDrive month‑end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis which are heavily focused on Freight, Marketing, Selling, Product Development, DTC and G&A expenses.Ensure accurate and timely reporting of expense related components of the financial statements in alignment with corporate close timelinesAssist with the final review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables prior to submissionPartner with Corporate Accounting and External Reporting teams to support quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirementsControls, Compliance & AuditPrepare and provide audit support documentation, including walkthroughs and testing supportAct as an expense accounting contact for internal and external audits and partner with appropriate teams to ensure completeness of supporting informationIdentify control gaps or process inefficiencies and drive remediation and continuous improvement initiativesProject Support & Business PartnershipParticipate in system implementations, upgrades and process improvement initiativesSupport testing efforts for accounting-related projects (e.g., system changes and new processes)Support process efficiency, data validation and financial insights utilizing data analytics tools or emerging technologies such as AICollaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Product Development, FP&A, Legal, and IT teams on expense‑impacting initiatives.What do you need to succeed?We all have unique skills that we bring to work and celebrate every day.
