What will you do?

A day in the life of a Senior Analyst at VF looks a little like this.

The Regional Senior Analyst - Expense Accounting is a highly analytical role focused on overseeing expense accounting activities across multiple brands and channels within a publicly traded company. The position is responsible for ensuring accurate, consistent, and compliant expense reporting, supporting period-end close activities, and acts as a key business partner to Accounting, FP&A, and Operations teams.

Success in this role requires strong technical accounting expertise, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to independently manage and continuously improve processes while navigating complex business models (e.g., wholesale, DTC, e-commerce, and intercompany transactions).

Let's break down that day-in-the-life a bit more.

Key Responsibilities
Period-End Close & Financial Reporting
  • Drive month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations and variance analysis which are heavily focused on Freight, Marketing, Selling, Product Development, DTC and G&A expenses.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of expense related components of the financial statements in alignment with corporate close timelines
  • Assist with the final review of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables prior to submission
  • Partner with Corporate Accounting and External Reporting teams to support quarterly and annual SEC reporting requirements
Controls, Compliance & Audit
  • Prepare and provide audit support documentation, including walkthroughs and testing support
  • Act as an expense accounting contact for internal and external audits and partner with appropriate teams to ensure completeness of supporting information
  • Identify control gaps or process inefficiencies and drive remediation and continuous improvement initiatives
Project Support & Business Partnership
  • Participate in system implementations, upgrades and process improvement initiatives
  • Support testing efforts for accounting-related projects (e.g., system changes and new processes)
  • Support process efficiency, data validation and financial insights utilizing data analytics tools or emerging technologies such as AI
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Sales, Product Development, FP&A, Legal, and IT teams on expense-impacting initiatives.
