Job summary

MISO manages the electricity superhighway in the Central U.S. The role focuses on representing G&I Operations, partnering with operators and tech teams to translate operational needs into strategic capabilities and product enhancements.

Responsibilities include leading process improvements, developing roadmaps for G&I tools, and ensuring actionable feedback drives adoption and reliability across Control Room initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 4–8 years of experience in power system operations, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in Generation & Interchange operations within a control room or reliability environment.
  • Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives and process improvements.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to influence without authority and collaborate across multiple teams.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency with tools such as EMD, RTD, EMS, and OpLog; intermediate MS Office skills.

About the Role

As the central representative for G&I Operations, you will partner with operators, leadership, Product Owners, Application Support, and technology teams to identify challenges, define requirements, and lead enhancements across Control Room applications. You will play a critical role in ensuring the voice of operations is reflected throughout the product lifecycle, translating immediate operational needs into long-term strategic capabilities.


Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications


  • Previous G&I experience.

  • NERC certification.

  • Experience with MISO or other RTO operating desks.

  • Measurable improvements in operator efficiency, decision‑making, situational awareness, and usability.

  • Strong operator adoption of new tools and enhancements driven by meaningful problem‑solving.

  • After‑action findings consistently incorporated into processes, training, and technology improvements.

  • Effective representation of G&I needs within enterprise technology initiatives.


The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $98,000-123,000USD annually. Base salary range for this position is included in accordance with requirements of various state/local pay transparency legislation. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individual competencies, education/professional certifications, and qualifications/experience.
