Job summary

Mesa Quantum Systems is hiring a Principal Hardware Engineer to own the board-level control electronics for chip-scale atomic clocks. This hands-on role demands leading analog and RF circuit design, from schematic to production, on-site in Boulder, CO.

You will own the analog front end, microwave synthesis chain, laser drive electronics, and the interfaces with firmware and systems teams. Report to the CTO and mentor engineers while driving design reviews and manufacturability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of board-level analog and RF hardware design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and lay out multi-layer precision analog and RF boards from schematic to layout, bring-up and debug.
• Own the precision analog front end and microwave synthesis chain for clock system.
• Design and validate VCSEL current drive and thermal control electronics for the laser package.
• Architect generations of control electronics with reduced size, power, and noise.
• Develop characterization protocols, test fixtures, and automation for clock performance metrics.
