Job summary

Mesa Quantum is hiring a Senior Analog & Mixed-Signal Engineer to lead the precision control electronics of our chip-scale atomic clock platform. You will own the analog front-end, signal conditioning, and control loops, partnering with AMO physics, photonics, RF, and systems teams.

This hands-on role requires performing schematic capture, simulation, bench bring-up, and characterization, reporting to the CTO, and collaborating with embedded and digital teams on RF synthesis and timing hardware

Qualifications

• 10+ years of analog and mixed-signal hardware design experience.
• Deep expertise in low-noise precision analog and signal conditioning.
• Experience with RF synthesis, PLLs, and VCOs.
• Hands-on bench work from schematic capture to characterization.
• Familiarity with design-for-test and manufacturability considerations.

Responsibilities

• Own the precision analog front-end and signal conditioning.
• Architect and deliver successive generations of control electronics for clock platform.
• Design and validate the microwave synthesis chain (PLL/VCO) and reference distribution.
• Implement VCSEL drive and laser control electronics.
• Develop lab protocols, fixtures, and automation validating clock performance.
