Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Refrigeration Mechanic to expertly maintain ammonia (R-717) and CO2 (R-744) refrigeration systems in our Tucson, AZ facility. You will lead preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnose issues, and optimize performance, ensuring safety and compliance in a union environment.

Mid-to-senior level technician with 5+ years in industrial refrigeration will thrive here, with opportunities for training, advancement into supervision, and a path toward controls/PMO roles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years’ industrial refrigeration or mechanical experience with ammonia systems.
• CO2 experience highly valued.
• Experience with rotary screw compressor maintenance expected.
• Ammonia Refrigeration I & II and RETA CARO/CIRO certification.
• Knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, and IIAR standards.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on ammonia and CO2 systems (compressors, condensers, evaporators, valves, controls).
• Rebuild, align, and troubleshoot rotary screw compressors, addressing seals, bearings, rotors, and oil circuits.
• Perform safe pump-downs, refrigerant charging, leak detection, and LOTO/line-break procedures.
• Analyze system performance data, adjusting parameters for capacity, efficiency, and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain detailed logs and work orders to support PSM/RMP programs and participate in PHAs, MOC, and emergency response.
• Mentor junior technicians and share best practices across the maintenance team.
