Job summary

Americold is seeking a highly skilled refrigeration technician to perform advanced maintenance and repairs across the warehouse. You will work with ammonia systems, perform diagnoses, replace components, and ensure safety and compliance with OSHA standards.

You will also oversee contractors, support operational excellence initiatives, and mentor junior technicians while maintaining accurate maintenance records and supporting continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of industrial refrigeration maintenance experience including ammonia refrigeration.
• High school diploma or GED; completion of industrial refrigeration courses.
• Must complete HAZMAT training and maintain certification.
• Experience troubleshooting control systems such as ALTA and Allen Bradley.
• Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

Responsibilities

• Define and set up operational settings for refrigeration equipment.
• Monitor system performance and optimize operation.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
• Replace components following lockout/tagout procedures and safety program requirements.
• Perform routine and complex maintenance on warehouse equipment per OSHA standards.
• Oversee and inspect work of technicians and assist in training junior staff.
• Maintain preventive/predictive maintenance records and participate in initiatives.
• Inspect work for compliance and quality control; handle progress reviews.
• Other duties as assigned.
