Job summary

TSMC is seeking an AMHS Principal Engineer in Phoenix, AZ to lead automated material handling system projects, overseeing construction, installation, and control software. You will drive vendor management, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure on-time delivery while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Construction Engineering, Building Science, Construction Science, or Civil Engineering
• 5+ years of experience in automated material handling systems, industrial automation, or robotics or similar higher technology manufacturing equipment
• Hands-on experience with AMHS solutions in logistics, semiconductor manufacturing, or warehousing automation
• Proven ability to lead technical aspects of large-scale AMHS deployments, constructions, and optimization projects
• Proficiency in Excel, MS Project, SQL, Power BI and Microsoft PowerPoint

Responsibilities

• Oversee Vendor Management: ensure successful installation, integration, and ongoing maintenance of AMHS hookups
• Monitor safety standards and efficiency in material management practices
• Lead a small team to manage different technical projects
• Coordinate vendor activities to meet timelines and optimize performance
• Review technical documentation and provide feedback to equipment suppliers
• Collaborate with manufacturing sites to sustain high-performance AMHS operations
• Develop detailed project plans with timelines, milestones, and cost structures
• Track progress and identify risks or resource gaps
• Escalate critical concerns to senior stakeholders
• Manage multiple AMHS projects concurrently with on-time delivery
• Foster cross-functional collaboration across engineering, operations, and manufacturing
• Drive process improvements and risk mitigation in AMHS implementations
