Job summary

Dexcom is seeking an experienced Staff Algorithm Engineer to lead the development of advanced algorithms for next‑generation CGM sensing technologies. You will build physics-based and data-driven models to improve sensor performance, and design signal processing, estimation, calibration, and detection algorithms.

You will apply statistical modeling and machine learning to diverse datasets and partner with hardware and product teams to scale solutions.

Qualifications

• PhD in a technical field with 2–4 years industry experience or MS with 5–7 years experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar computing environments.
• Deep expertise in statistical estimation, signal processing, optimization, and mathematical modeling.
• Strong machine learning knowledge and practical model development.
• Experience developing algorithms for sensing, measurement systems, or medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of advanced algorithms for next-generation sensing technologies.
• Build physics-based, mechanistic, and data-driven models to characterize sensor behavior.
• Design and implement signal processing, estimation, calibration, and detection algorithms.
• Apply ML and data analytics to bench, pre-clinical, clinical, and real-world datasets.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and product teams to mature algorithms.
• Evaluate algorithm performance through simulation, modeling, and experiments.
• Provide technical leadership on architecture, tradeoffs, and verification.
