Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Senior Algorithm Engineer to drive the development of advanced sensing algorithms powering next‑generation CGM and health sensing technologies. You will lead modeling, signal processing, and machine learning efforts across cross-disciplinary teams to improve sensor performance and data interpretation.

You’ll work in a fast-paced environment with opportunities to publish or patent innovations, and you’ll engage with firmware, hardware, and clinical teams to transfer algorithms

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field with 2+ years industry experience, or a Master’s with 2–5 years.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar.
• Deep expertise in statistics, signal processing, optimization, and mathematical modeling.
• Strong understanding of machine learning techniques and practical model development.
• Experience developing algorithms for sensing technologies, medical devices, or related disciplines.
• Experience analyzing large datasets with multiple signals and dependencies.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced technical environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of advanced algorithms for next-generation glucose sensing technologies.
• Develop physics-based, mechanistic, and data-driven models to characterize sensor behavior and improve measurement performance.
• Design and implement signal processing, estimation, calibration, detection, and predictive algorithms.
• Apply statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analytics to extract insights from datasets.
• Drive clinical performance assessments and algorithm maturation with cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate algorithm performance through simulation, modeling, and experimental analysis.
• Provide technical insights on algorithm architecture, design tradeoffs, verification strategies, and implementation approaches.
• Identify opportunities to optimize overall system performance and resource utilization.
• Facilitate algorithm design transfer activities with firmware, verification, and validation teams.
