Job summary

Dexcom is seeking a Senior Algorithm Engineer to drive development of advanced sensing algorithms for next-generation CGM technology. You will build physics-based and data-driven models to improve sensor performance and lead signal processing, estimation, and calibration efforts.

The role requires expert-level ML and statistical modeling skills, with collaboration across sensor, hardware, firmware, clinical, and product teams to advance algorithm maturation and deliver impactful healthcare

Qualifications

• PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Biophysics, Statistics, or related field with 2 years of industry experience; or a Master's with 2-5 years relevant experience; or PhD with 0-2 years.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python, MATLAB, C/C++, or similar computing environments.
• Deep expertise in statistical estimation, signal processing, optimization, and mathematical modeling.
• Strong ML knowledge and practical model development experience.
• Experience designing algorithms for sensing technologies or medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of advanced algorithms supporting next-gen glucose sensing technologies.
• Develop physics-based, mechanistic, and data-driven models to characterize sensor behavior.
• Design and implement signal processing, estimation, calibration, detection, and predictive algorithms.
• Apply statistical modeling and data analytics to bench, preclinical, clinical, and real-world data.
• Drive clinical performance assessments and algorithm maturation with cross-functional teams.
• Evaluate algorithm performance via simulation, modeling, and experiments.
• Provide technical insights on architecture, tradeoffs, and verification strategies.
• Identify opportunities to optimize system performance and resource use.
• Facilitate design transfer with firmware, verification, and validation teams.
