Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Senior Staff Assembly, Integration & Test (AIT) Engineer focused on Electrical Ground Systems Test to join our satellite team. You will work in labs supporting AI&T operations, developing test systems for spacecraft and aerospace communications.

The role requires 12+ years of space hardware experience, strong system design, and leadership in test campaigns. Onsite lab work daily with a focus on safety and quality in a dynamic, cutting-edge environment.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace or electrical engineering required.
• 12+ years of spacecraft assembly, integration and test experience.
• Experience in requirements management, system design, integration, and test.
• Proficiency in Python with willingness to learn new languages.

Responsibilities

• Define EGSE requirements, designs, and testing for satellite integration.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering to verify test matrices.
• Develop AI&T schedules with Program Management.
• Support on-orbit operations using integration/test knowledge.
• Validate electrical interfaces between test equipment and flight hardware.
• Provide guidance for satellite assembly, integration and test campaigns.
• Lead acceptance/qualification testing (vibration, EMI/EMC, thermal vacuum, etc.).
• Lead anomaly investigations and root-cause corrective actions.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues during sub-system integration tests.
• Lead readiness reviews and post-operational briefings.
• Analyze and present integration/test data to verify activities.
• Author test procedures and lead test activities.
• Support satellite AI&T and launch operations planning.
• Work independently and in teams to meet objectives.
• Enforce safety policies in AIT activities.
• Work onsite in lab and cleanroom daily.
