Job summary

The City of Houston Airports System Maintenance/Contract Administration team seeks a Senior Contract Administrator to oversee contracts for HVAC, central utilities, passenger boarding bridges, and related facilities at IAH, HOU, and EFD.

You will read blueprints, contracts, and OEM manuals, ensuring compliance and performance while managing varied contracts. A Bachelor’s degree and four years of contract experience are required, with a Texas license to drive.

Qualifications

• Four years of contract compliance experience are required.
• Ability to read and analyze blueprints, contracts, and OEM service manuals.
• Must possess a basic knowledge of contracts and mechanical systems.
• Professional experience related to the type of work may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

• Reviews bids for conformity to contract requirements and determines acceptable bids.
• Supervises small staff involved in developing technical specifications.
• Ensures the timely award of contractual services.
• Develops elements in agreements to provide efficient and economical alternatives of service.
• Monitors and reviews budget allocations with finance group; provides budget forecast and proposed alternatives.
• Resolves contract disputes; meets with vendors, customers and representatives to resolve problems.
• Interprets documents and advises on compliance issues.
• Maintains records on contract information; coordinates with other City departments on contract documents.
