Job summary

Honeywell Aerospace in Torrance, CA is seeking a Senior Advanced Software Engineer to design, develop and integrate complex ECS/air-thermal systems for aerospace applications. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet performance, reliability and regulatory standards.

You will model and analyze thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics, develop performance simulations and drive system-level requirements through validation and testing in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical, chemical, or related engineering fields, with emphasis on thermal management system modeling and analysis
• Strong knowledge of system design principles, integration, and testing methodologies
• Proficiency with systems modeling tools and software such as NPSS, SysML, MATLAB, or similar platforms for mechanical thermal analysis and design

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine ECS performance models and simulations; validate system-level steady-state requirements.
• Perform thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics analyses to optimize performance.
• Define system and equipment KPIs and generate/validate requirements.
• Create and maintain system-level steady-state models; optimize performance and document models.
• Coordinate modeling efforts across stakeholders; communicate with engineering management.
• Support system integration tests: test plans, execution, data processing, and calibration.
