Job summary

The Boeing Company in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Experienced Structures Repair and Modification Technician to join our C-17 team. You will perform close tolerance drilling, repairs, and structural modifications on critical aerospace components, reading engineering drawings and using depot‑level tools.

You must have extensive experience with non-porous metals, schematics, and heavy structures; shift flexibility is required.

Qualifications

• Reading schematics, assembly drawings and standard operating procedures.
• Experience working with non-porous metals such as aluminum, titanium, and stainless steel.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and retrofit requirements.
• Safety procedures including Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform close tolerance drilling, reaming, removal, and installation to critical support structures and fracture critical areas.
• Locate blind holes necessary for installation of new structural items to existing structure.
• Seal, paint, shim, and preserve structure in accordance with standard repair processes.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical orders, process specifications, and retrofit requirements to perform structural modifications and repairs.
• Use tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.
• Determine functionality of basic electrical systems.
• Access aircraft data via computer systems and initiate on-line parts and discrepancy requests.
• Maintain necessary certifications, licenses and permits as required for assigned work.
• Ascend/descend vertical work ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift loads of approximately 35 pounds.
• Ensure working environment is safe via Hazardous Energy and Lock Out/Tag systems.
