Job summary

LER TechForce, LLC. is seeking a Design Release Engineer for Airbags in Rochester, MI. The role focuses on leading the development of passenger and driver airbag systems, managing Tier 1 suppliers, and ensuring APQP documentation is maintained throughout the vehicle program.

Responsibilities include leading design, development, release, and certification activities with CAE, CAD, BOM, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, and regulatory reporting to meet safety targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (ABET-accredited) or equivalent.
• 8+ years of Design Release Engineering in Airbags/Steering Wheels.
• Experience with vehicle safety development processes.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to lead teams and Tier 1 suppliers and drive technical tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Develop functional requirements for Steering wheel and Frontal Airbags systems.
• Develop technical requirements in collaboration with internal functions, design studio, engineering and Tier 1 suppliers.
• Lead/design, release and certification with tools (CAE, CAD, BOM, Drawing Release, Software Release, DFMEAs, DVP&Rs, Validation, Testing, Certification).
