Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Restraint Design Release Engineer to lead the design, development and release of steering wheels, seat belts and airbags for client vehicle programs. You will collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to meet program timing and ensure documentation and compliance are maintained across FMVSS, ECE and global standards.

You will manage testing reviews, parts data, and best practices while supporting plants during pre-production and production life.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
Minimum of 1 year automotive engineering experience.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Good communication, problem solving, computer and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop and release restraint components and systems (steering wheel, seat belts, airbags).
Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to meet program timing and deliverables.
Write change notices and compliance reports; manage documentation (DVPR, DFMEA).
Track, root cause and resolve issues during development and serial life (warranty).
Interface with purchasing, product design office, manufacturing and supply base to achieve objectives; review testing and certifications.
