Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA seeks a Design Release Engineer (DRE) for Safety Restraint Systems to design, develop and release components such as steering wheels, seat belts and airbags for Client vehicle programs. The role collaborates with suppliers and cross-functional teams to manage documentation and ensure program timing and compliance with FMVSS/ECE standards across pre-production to serial life.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET accredited university.
Minimum of 1 year automotive engineering experience.
Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
Ability to solve problems and present effectively.

Responsibilities

Design, development and release of restraint components (steering wheel, seat belts, airbags).
Collaborate with suppliers and cross-functional teams to meet program timing.
Write change notices and compliance reports, maintain DVPR, DFMEA.
Monitor issues during development and serial life; support plants during production launches.
Ensure compliance with FMVSS, ECE and other global certifications.
