Job summary

ERM, the world’s leading sustainability consultancy, seeks a Senior Consultant, Air Quality Compliance Engineering or Science, to help clients navigate California and nationwide air programs. Based in Irvine, California, you’ll develop emission inventories, permit applications, and compliance reports while collaborating with ERM’s global network.

This role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or environmental science, 3+ years of experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, or related discipline.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Working knowledge of local, state, and federal air programs (Title V, RECLAIM).
• Regulatory knowledge of local air districts and state/federal programs.
• Ability to travel and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and apply environmental regulations and agency guidance.
• Strong MS Office skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare emission inventories, permit applications, and compliance reports.
• Conduct regulatory applicability evaluations and implement compliance management systems.
• Perform fieldwork including air compliance assessments and inspections.
• Liaise with regulators and clients to ensure timely permit approvals.
• Promote safety, collaboration, and excellence across projects.
