Job summary

ERM is seeking a Senior Consultant, Air Quality Compliance Engineering or Science in Irvine, California. You will drive air quality compliance strategies for diverse industrial clients, interact with regulators, and lead multi-disciplinary permitting programs across California and beyond.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in engineering or environmental science, 3+ years of relevant experience, and strong regulatory knowledge with excellent communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (chemical, environmental, civil or mechanical) or environmental science.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in air quality or environmental consulting.
• Working knowledge of Title V, RECLAIM and local air programs and districts.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply environmental regulations and agency guidance.
• Strong written and verbal communication with client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare emission inventories, permit applications, and compliance reports.
• Conduct regulatory applicability evaluations and implement compliance programs.
• Perform fieldwork, including air compliance assessments and inspections.
• Liaise with regulators and clients to secure timely permit approvals.
• Promote safety, collaboration, and excellence across projects.
