Job summary

General Motors is seeking a senior AI/ML platform engineer to own end-to-end transformation of business workflows, designing secure, enterprise-grade AI solutions integrated with Vertex AI and external LLMs.

You will partner with engineering, product, and business teams to define platform standards, migrate legacy workflows into native GCP environments, and scale AI adoption across GM’s enterprise platforms.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in software engineering, platform architecture, or enterprise workflow automation in complex environments.
• Proven experience leading or contributing to GCP-based transformations across large enterprises.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience designing and deploying AI agents or bot-driven workflows with Vertex AI, Gemini, or external LLMs.
• Strong proficiency in Python and/or JavaScript frameworks building production‑ready backend services.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end transformation of business workflows using AI and build enterprise-grade AI solutions.
• Write scalable backend services and integrations using Python and/or Node.js/TypeScript.
• Build and operate cloud-native, event-driven services on GCP (Cloud Run, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, API Gateway).
• Code data pipelines to migrate legacy workflows into native GCP environments.
• Implement security using GCP IAM, OAuth2, and enterprise access controls.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Architect and deploy production-grade multi-step AI agents integrated with Vertex AI and external LLMs.
• Design HITL validation nodes and guardrails for production workflows.
• Create reusable architecture patterns and boilerplates for scalable AI workflows.
