General Motors is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager– AI Development to lead a high-performing team delivering AI-enabled products and platforms. You will own end-to-end delivery and shape technical strategy for AI and data-driven solutions across GM’s platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience including senior/principal engineer or technical lead roles.
• 5+ years of direct people-management experience leading software/AI teams.
• Proven experience building and deploying AI-enabled solutions including prompt/workflow design and orchestration.
• Strong data platform experience with data lakes/lakehouses/warehouses, APIs, pipelines, governance and security.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow an engineering team of software and AI engineers, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI-enabled applications and services from problem definition to deployment.
• Lead design and implementation of AI solutions on GM platforms, translating business use cases into scalable solutions.
• Shape technical strategy and architecture for AI and data-driven products, including security and observability.
• Drive engineering best practices across frontend, backend, data, and workflow layers, including CI/CD and secure coding.
• Collaborate with product, data, architecture, and security teams to align roadmaps and remove blockers.
• Mentor senior engineers, building technical depth and leadership capacity.
