Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Sr Software Engineer, AI Agent Platform to design, build, and operate real-time voice AI capabilities for mission-critical public safety communications. This role spans the stack to improve reliability, performance, and security while advancing production-ready LLM and agentic solutions.

Remote work for US-based candidates, salary $140,000–$160,000 annually, plus benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in real-time communication systems with expertise in Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech.
• Proven track record of technical leadership in large, complex systems.
• Ability to architect LLM and agentic systems in production settings.
• Deep knowledge of low-latency audio, streaming, and telephony technologies.
• Strong proficiency in Elixir, Go, Python, or Rust.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and operation of real-time voice AI systems for public safety telecommunicators
• Identify and resolve complex technical challenges across the stack
• Drive engineering standards around reliability, security, and performance
• Collaborate with product and operations teams to refine technical strategies
• Mentor engineers to strengthen overall team capabilities
• Establish testing and monitoring frameworks for AI systems
• Manage incident response and ensure system health
