Job summary

Lilly is seeking a Senior Advisor, Agentic AI Solutions and SciML Engineer to design, build, and deploy AI-enabled workflows within the DDCS Digital Transformation and Data Science team. You will translate ML concepts into practical tools to improve speed, productivity, and decision quality across the organization.

Qualifications

• Earned Master’s degree with a minimum 5 years post‑degree experience in Computational/Computer Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent).
• 2+ years of applied technical work building AI or ML solutions in Python or R with knowledge of NumPy, pandas, PyTorch, scikit‑learn, or related.
• 3+ years of expertise in strategic thinking, problem framing, and translating ambiguous needs into AI workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to frame ambiguous business or scientific needs as tractable AI, modeling, or computational workflows.
• Strong communication of model assumptions, uncertainty, and limitations to technical and business audiences.
• Additional preferences include PhD with 2+ years experience and healthcare/LP problems exposure.
• Fluency with agent frameworks and orchestration and end‑to‑end RAG design considerations.
• EEL and LLMs operations and responsible AI practices are valued.

Responsibilities

• Identify, prioritize, and scope opportunities where AI, ML, and automation improve speed, productivity, and decision quality.
• Translate stakeholder needs into practical AI tools, designs, acceptance criteria, and delivery plans.
• Develop AI‑enabled applications and workflows that integrate models, data sources, and user interfaces for decision support.
• Create reusable agent skills, validators, run ledgers, and knowledge extraction systems for structured/unstructured content.
• Turn experimental data and documents into faster insights and quantitative business cases that inform investments.
• Champion MLOps, validation, monitoring, and governance aligned with responsible AI principles.
• Collaborate with drug delivery scientists, device engineers, data scientists, and regulatory stakeholders.
