Amazon seeks a Senior Applied Scientist for the Data Processing Agents Science team to advance agentic AI/ML across large-scale analytics services. You will design and build agentic solutions for big data processing, collaborating with engineering, product, and business leaders to deploy your work at Amazon scale.

The role involves publishing scientific work at top venues, mentoring others, and contributing to production-level systems that power AWS data platforms.

Qualifications

• PhD, or Master's degree and 6+ years of applied research experience.
• Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or related language.
• Experience in patents or publications at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences or journals.
• 5+ years research experience applying agentic AI or ML techniques to systems problems in programming languages, databases, or distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Apply agentic AI/ML and systems skills to impact large analytics services at AWS.
• Design and build agentic solutions and ML-powered automation to simplify big data processing workflows.
• Collaborate with science peers, and with engineering, product, and business leaders to deploy your work at Amazon scale.
• Publish and present scientific work at top-tier venues and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing.
