Job summary

Vanguard is seeking a senior AI/ML Engineer to design and deploy Agentic AI and enterprise LLM solutions that drive business outcomes. You will build scalable knowledge systems, integrate multi-source data, and collaborate with stakeholders to solve high-value problems.

You will lead the development of AI systems that can reason, plan, and act across tools and data, while ensuring reliability, governance, and explainability in an enterprise setting.

Qualifications

• Agentic AI: design AI agents that reason, plan and act across systems.
• LLMs: hands-on enterprise LLM apps (RAG, tool use, orchestration, evaluation).
• NLP: unstructured text and language-driven workflows.
• ML: gradient boosting, tuning & interpretability options.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, ML, Data Science, or related field.
• 3+ years delivering AI/ML in production.
• 5+ years Python experience; distributed data processing a plus.
• Strong ability to solve business problems with AI, not just models.
• Excellent communication, with ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in cross-functional, enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and build advanced ML models integrating multi-dimensional data into insights and signals.
• Design and build enterprise knowledge systems integrating structured/unstructured data for AI agents to retrieve and reason over knowledge.
• Partner with stakeholders to identify high-value problems for Agentic AI, LLMs, and ML.
• Define evaluation frameworks measuring coverage, relevance, trustworthiness, explainability and adoption.
• Focus on business outcomes, not just model performance.
• Architect and develop agentic AI systems that can reason, plan, and act across tools, workflows, and data sources.
• Design multi-agent and tool-augmented LLM solutions to automate complex processes.
• Ensure solutions are reliable, explainable, and enterprise-governed.
