Job summary

Zoom Communications, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced ML engineer to design and implement AI-based algorithms for live captioning and advanced product features. You will translate complex models into production-ready code and optimize training across GPUs in distributed environments.

The role requires a master's degree and 4+ years in ASR, ML, and programming, with a flexible telecommuting option across the U.S. This is a hybrid/remote-friendly position in a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or a foreign equivalent.
• 4 years of experience in job offered or related occupation.
• 4 years of experience in ASR for live captioning.
• 4 years of experience in Conformer model structure, RNN‑T Transformer Encoder, Beam Search, etc.
• 4 years of experience using GPUs across nodes for ASR training to improve the ASR training pipeline.
• 4 years of experience in C++ Programming.
• 4 years of experience in Python Programming for model training.
• Telecommuting work arrangement permitted: position may work in various unanticipated locations throughout the U.S. Position does not require domestic or international travel.

Responsibilities

• In new product design roles, use machine language and statistical modeling techniques to develop and evaluate algorithms.
• Translate algorithms and technical specifications into code in both theoretical and product environments.
• Complete programming, testing, debugging and documentation for installation and maintenance.
• Apply deep learning to enable computers to visualize, learn and respond to complex situations.
• Adapt ML to VR/AR, AI, robotics and interactive products for user experiences.
• Work with large-scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems and modeling environments.
• Resolve complex issues using professional concepts and company objectives.
• Work on complex issues requiring in-depth evaluation of variables and factors.
• Exercise judgment to select methods and evaluation criteria; network with key contacts outside own area.
