Job summary

Lam Research in Fremont, CA is seeking a Software Engineer Sys 5 to design, develop, and troubleshoot software for central AI-enabled platforms. You will own integration of AI models with hardware platforms and build tools to support design, infrastructure, and technology ecosystems.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of shipping production software
  • Proven experience building AI agents, LLM-driven systems or autonomous workflows
  • Experience with LLM orchestration patterns and frameworks
  • Foundational AI skills including prompt engineering and model evaluation
  • Systems-thinking mindset across AI models, data pipelines and operations
  • Strong communication to influence senior engineers and product leaders

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement architectural solutions for integrating LLM technology into business applications
  • Develop multi-step agentic pipelines around open- and closed-source LLMs
  • Own infrastructure for model integration, routing, and evaluation
  • Build MCP Servers with governance, versioning and access controls for production AI systems
  • Evaluate and integrate latest AI advancements as they emerge
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align AI systems with business objectives
