Lam Research in California’s Bay Area is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and troubleshoot AI-powered software tools that support design, infrastructure, and technology platforms. You will ensure seamless integration between software and hardware within Lam's centralized software engineering team.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to build GenAI applications, implement observability pipelines for prompts and model latency, and contribute to scalable architecture

Qualifications

• Master’s in CS, CE, electronics, or related field with 2+ years of industry experience.
• Strong backend design experience with services, data models, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience building prototypes or production apps that utilize generative AI.
• Experience with vector databases (FAISS, Milvus, Weaviate) and caching systems (Redis, Memcached).
• Hands-on retrieval-augmented generation and context engineering focusing on reliability, cost, and latency.
• Strong agent design skills: prompt engineering, tool use, multi-step workflows (ReAct), and failure handling.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and optimize AI prompts and next-generation applications powered by Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Develop application and component strategies, overseeing both user experience and backend systems.
• Implement comprehensive GenAI observability pipelines to track trace-level data, prompt inputs and outputs, and model latency.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including business leaders, engineers, architects, and designers to align AI systems with business objectives.
• Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during testing phases as well as in production environments.
• Document technical architecture, methodologies, and innovations for effective knowledge transfer and ongoing advancement.
• Conduct thorough code reviews, provide expert guidance on enhancements and issue resolution, and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
