Job summary

Lyft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help define and lead a unified Risk Platform for claims management. You will architect scalable workflows, collaborate with Engineering, Data Science, Product, and Claim Operations, and drive AI-enabled improvements.

The role emphasizes end-to-end solution delivery, high availability, and production reliability in a fast-moving insurance platform context.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years building scalable distributed systems with high availability.
• Strong collaboration with Backend, Frontend, Data, and Product teams.
• Ability to balance tradeoffs in design, architecture and cost.
• Experience deploying AI features and automation for engineering efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the long-term roadmap for claims management systems.
• Provide architectural leadership across multiple teams.
• Drive AI automation and RAG workflows to improve productivity.
• Deliver scalable, reliable, well-tested solutions and code.
• Collaborate with internal Lyft teams and external partners for integrations.
• Lead code reviews, on-call support, and incident triage.
• Share knowledge and improve engineering processes.
