Job summary

Lyft is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer in Risk to shape the future of insurance claims management. You will lead architectural decisions, design scalable workflows, and integrate AI-enabled features across claim operations with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes building reliable systems, evaluating AI safety, and enabling data-driven decisions to reduce costs and improve customer outcomes. A strong background in distributed AI and Python is preferred.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of building scalable distributed systems with high availability and observability.
• Experience developing AI features using multimodal LLMs and RAG pipelines.
• Strong Python and data processing skills; knowledge of frontend basics is a plus.
• Experience with AI safety and alignment considerations.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive long-term technical roadmap for claims management systems.
• Provide architectural leadership and guide multiple engineering teams.
• Identify bottlenecks in claim workflows and innovate with AI automation.
• Deliver scalable, high-quality, well-tested systems and code.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure scalable integrations.
