Job summary

Lyft is seeking a Senior AI Software Engineer for Risk - Insurance Claims Management in San Francisco. Hybrid work with 3 days in the office weekly.

You will drive the technical direction of a unified risk platform and lead development of an intelligent claims management system powering the insurance stack. Responsibilities include defining the long-term roadmap, architectural leadership, and delivering scalable solutions.

Qualifications

6+ years of professional experience building scalable distributed systems with high availability and reliability.
Experience developing AI features using multimodal LLMs, RAG pipelines, and AI automation tools.
Strong ability to reason about tradeoffs in system design and operational cost.
Proficiency in Python; knowledge of React/Next.js and data analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

Define and drive the long-term technical roadmap for claims management systems.
Provide architectural leadership and guide design decisions across engineering teams.
Identify bottlenecks in claim workflows and drive platform innovations with AI automation.
Deliver scalable, high-quality code and systems.
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners for integrations.
Lead code reviews, design reviews, and on-call incident responses.
Share knowledge and improve processes through tech talks and brown bags.
