Job summary

Jefferson seeks an Expert Software Engineer to own the full lifecycle of AI-enabled applications within the AI Factory strategy. You will design, develop, deploy, modernize, and support AI-driven software, while ensuring security, privacy, compliance, and Responsible AI alignment across projects.

Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Product, and Operations to deliver scalable solutions. You will mentor engineers and evaluate emerging AI technologies to advance Jefferson's AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience; 7+ years preferred.
• 7 years in software development with distributed systems and cloud platforms.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools in production.
• Experience establishing engineering standards and best practices.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment.
• Knowledge of security, privacy, and compliance, including Responsible AI.
• Experience refactoring legacy applications.
• Experience with observability/telemetry platforms.
• Track record owning complex application development in senior/expert capacity.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and support AI-enabled applications and services.
• Utilize enterprise-approved AI-assisted development tools and platforms.
• Maintain, optimize, and modernize AI-generated applications.
• Establish engineering standards, patterns, and best practices for AI-assisted software development.
• Implement automated testing, CI/CD, and deployment practices for AI-generated solutions.
• Ensure AI-enabled applications meet security, privacy, compliance, and Responsible AI requirements.
• Refactor and modernize legacy applications to support Jefferson's modernization roadmap.
• Monitor application performance, reliability, and operational health using observability/telemetry platforms.
• Collaborate with Architecture, Security, Product, and Operations teams to deliver scalable and maintainable solutions.
• Mentor engineers and promote adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend innovations that advance Jefferson's AI Factory strategy.
