Job summary

EY in the United States is seeking a senior security professional to design and validate AI security controls across data, tools, and processes. You will embed defenses throughout the lifecycle, turning threats into practical safeguards that support ambitious AI use cases.

The Challenger program partners with product and engineering teams to build reusable patterns, evidence, and automation for resilient AI systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• Experience in product, application, cloud, platform, or detection security with production controls.
• Threat modeling to turn attack paths into engineering measures.
• Security of modern applications, cloud, identities, data, and pipelines.
• Working knowledge of generative and agentic AI, including retrieval, model access, tool use, evaluation, runtime behavior.
• Hands-on automation: building or extending security tests, telemetry, references, or adversarial assessments.
• Experience supporting vulnerability or incident response and translating lessons into stronger controls.
• Cross-functional delivery partnering with engineers and risk teams.
• Travel up to 50% and hybrid office attendance.

Responsibilities

• Set the security direction with reusable AI security patterns, control objectives, reference architectures, and threat models.
• Join builders early to identify credible attack paths and shape controls that fit the product and delivery model.
• Design scoped authority for identity, access, isolation, approvals, and recovery.
• Protect sensitive information by embedding security across the data lifecycle.
• Secure the delivery path by integrating automated security tests, policy gates, and trusted artifacts.
• Test adversarially through red-team exercises and translate findings into repeatable tests and stronger patterns.
• Build runtime protection using end-to-end evidence and behavioral signals to detect abnormalities.
• Strengthen response with clear evidence and containment options during incidents.
• Advise on residual risk with concise technical recommendations to product and risk leaders.
• Build shared capability by creating reference implementations and coaching engineers.
