Job summary

EY is seeking a security leadership role focused on embedding security throughout the AI lifecycle. You will work with product and engineering teams to prove controls under adversarial conditions and replace one-off reviews with reusable patterns, measurable coverage, and evidence-driven responses.

The Challenger program builds and tests ideas in real conditions, delivering scalable, value‑driven security across AI offerings. Travel up to 50% and hybrid office in the U.S. are expected.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
• Substantial experience in product, application, cloud, platform, or detection security, including hands‑on ownership of production controls.
• Threat modeling: assess complex systems and turn attack paths into practical engineering measures.
• Production security: securing modern apps, cloud environments, identities, data, networks, and pipelines.
• AI systems knowledge: working understanding of generative and agentic AI, including retrieval, model access, tool use, evaluation, and runtime behavior.
• Hands‑on automation: building or extending security tests, controls, telemetry, reference implementations, or adversarial assessments.
• Response experience: supporting vulnerability or incident response and translating lessons into stronger technical controls.
• Cross‑functional delivery: partnering with engineers and risk functions to improve security while respecting user value.
• Travel and On‑site requirements: up to 50% travel and hybrid office.

Responsibilities

• Set the security direction with reusable AI security patterns and reference architectures.
• Join builders early to identify attack paths and shape controls.
• Design scoped authority for identity, access, isolation, approvals, and recovery.
• Protect data across lifecycle with confidentiality, integrity, provenance, and access controls.
• Secure the delivery path with automated security tests, policy gates, and traceable changes.
• Test adversarially with red-team exercises and translate findings into reusable patterns.
• Build runtime protection using evidence and signals to detect abnormal actions.
• Strengthen response with clear containment actions and lessons learned.
• Advise on residual risk with concise technical recommendations.
• Build shared capability by creating reusable controls and coaching engineers.
