Makersite is seeking an experienced Data Scientist to build and deploy production-grade AI systems. You will own end-to-end AI solutions, design advanced architectures, and optimize performance for scalable, reliable production environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Python, with ~10 years of overall software engineering or data experience.
• Proven experience building and deploying production-grade APIs (preferably with FastAPI; REST/GraphQL a plus).
• Hands-on experience with LLMs and LLMOps, including prompt engineering, fine-tuning, and evaluation (e.g., GPT, Claude).
• Strong experience fine-tuning open-source models (e.g., Hugging Face).
• Designing and working with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Chroma, pgvector).
• Experience building AI agents with LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, or similar.
• Understanding model deployment and serving (vLLM, TGI, or managed endpoints).
• CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment practices (Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions).
• Experience processing large-scale text datasets.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy production-grade AI systems with scalable APIs.
• Own end-to-end delivery of AI solutions from prototyping to productionization.
• Design and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems with vector databases.
• Build AI agents using frameworks like LangGraph, LangChain, or CrewAI.
• Optimize model inference for latency, cost, and throughput at scale.
• Ensure reliability with monitoring, logging, and alerting for deployed models.
