You will lead the design of models and pipelines, promote agentic coding practices, and mentor a fast-growing team. The role blends strategic leadership with hands-on modeling in a dynamic AWS environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of data querying languages (SQL) or scripting languages (Python) or statistical software (R, SAS, Matlab).
• 4+ years of data scientist experience.
• Experience with statistical models and roadmapping data science work.
• Experience handling ambiguous or undefined challenges with problem solving.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field.

Responsibilities

• Define the modeling strategy, scientific approach, and success metrics for AI-first security capabilities across multi-cloud environments.
• Tackle undefined, open-ended challenges with data limitations and high stakes.
• Drive adoption of agentic coding tools, LLM-powered workflows, and AI tooling across the science org.
• Lead design of models, embeddings, RAG pipelines, evaluation frameworks, and multi-agent safety.
• Influence roadmaps and align cross-functional partners around a shared scientific vision.
• Turn hypotheses into prototypes and production systems that scale at Amazon.
• Translate complex results into clear recommendations for engineers and leaders.
• Mentor scientists and shape the science culture and hiring standards.
