Job summary

RingCentral is seeking a Senior Privacy Counsel to serve as the primary privacy legal advisor for AI-first communications and contact center products. You will guide product teams through global privacy requirements, translate evolving AI-related laws into actionable policy, and partner with security and regulatory teams to embed privacy by design.

You will lead PIAs/DPIAs, oversee data processing records, and help craft transparent customer communications.

Qualifications

• Direct experience counseling product teams on privacy requirements with the ability to balance business needs and legal requirements.
• Deep working knowledge of major global privacy laws and practical implementation of the laws to product innovation.
• Understanding of the legal and governance implications of the adoption and development of AI.
• Experience in solving product legal matters, including communicating and collaborating effectively with stakeholders with wide-ranges of legal and technical experience and knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Lead the execution and documentation of Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new features and services.
• Partner with Information Security to review product security controls and align privacy with security implementations (HIPAA context).
• Develop and update customer-facing collateral on RingCentral Trust Center to support transparency for customers and partners.
• Support records of processing activities and documentation for data locations, transfers, and subprocessors.
• Support the incident response program and represent the privacy team in incident response activities.
• Monitor global privacy developments and collaborate with industry peers to stay ahead of trends that affect RingCentral’s privacy posture.
