Job summary

Renesas Electronics Corp. seeks an Applications Engineer for its Performance Computing Power team in the US. You will collaborate with marketing, IC design, firmware, and systems engineering to deliver advanced power solutions for AI and cloud infra.

The role requires a strong foundation in DC-DC power conversion and multiphase buck controllers, plus experience in embedded programming, Verilog, and FPGA-based development. A MS or PhD in power electronics is preferred.

Qualifications

• A New College Graduate (NCG) with an MS or a Ph.D. preferably with a thesis/dissertation focused on power management/power electronics is required.
• MS or PhD in power electronics strongly preferred for advanced applications.
• Experience with DC/DC converters and multiphase buck converters is desired.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior engineers to validate digital multiphase controllers and Smart Power Stages for system performance.
• Evaluate new algorithms in the lab using FPGA, Microcontrollers, and custom Analog Front End.
• Model DC-DC converters and support design with SIMPLIS/MATLAB for new control architectures.
• Develop EVBs with component selection, layout, and thermal design.
• Create datasheets, performance reports, and application notes for customers.
