Job summary

Renesas seeks a Senior Field Applications Engineer in the San Jose area to support datacenter, AI, and server power architectures. You will work closely with customers on design, bring-up, validation, and issue resolution.

The role combines hands-on lab work with field engagement, requiring power electronics expertise, strong debugging skills, and the ability to own programs from design to production. You will collaborate with sales and engineering to drive design wins while delivering timely

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in power electronics, VR validation, or system-level power architecture.
• Hands-on bench testing and debugging experience.
• Experience with oscilloscopes, function generators, and power supplies.
• Strong communication skills with engineers and customers.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent technical activities with urgency.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer-facing technical support for power architecture and VR solutions.
• Assist design reviews, board bring-up, and validation activities.
• Develop validation plans and test procedures for multiphase power solutions.
• Perform VR simulations and hardware validation across datacenter/AI platforms.
• Lead root-cause analysis and coordinate corrective actions with teams.
