Figma is building a leading internal AI platform to power enterprise workflows and developer tooling. This role anchors the Infrastructure & Hosting pillar, designing hosting paths for AI apps and robust model routing with cost-aware governance.

You will collaborate with IT, Security, and AI infra teams to deliver scalable, observable systems and establish best practices as a founding pillar member. Remote work within the United States is supported.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of software engineering experience in infrastructure, platform, or backend roles.
• Proven track record building internal platforms or paved paths adopted by multiple teams.
• Strong system design skills for resilient, observable production systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLM operations: model gateways, routing, evals, or cost/usage instrumentation.
• Experience with identity and access management (e.g., Okta, SSO) in enterprise environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the hosted path for internal AI apps, bots, and agents, including runtime patterns for long-running workflows.
• Build a model routing layer to direct tasks across models based on cost and capability with an audit trail.
• Establish observability, usage analytics, and per-team cost attribution for AI workloads.
• Integrate identity and security patterns to enable safe day-one use of internal AI apps.
• Partner with product AI infra teams to share gateways and telemetry rather than duplicating systems.
• Help define the platform strategy and roadmap as a founding member of the infrastructure pillar.
