Job summary

Figma is seeking an experienced infrastructure-focused software engineer to design and build the hosted path for internal AI apps, bots, and agents. You will implement runtime patterns, cost-aware model routing, and robust observability with audit trails to support scalable AI workloads across the company.

You will collaborate with IT, security, and AI infra teams to ensure secure day-one readiness, identity integration, and efficient cost attribution.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience with infrastructure/platform/backend focus.
• Track record of building internal platforms that are adopted across teams.
• Strong system design skills for resilient, observable production systems.
• Hands-on experience with LLM operations: model gateways, routing, or cost/usage instrumentation.
• Experience with identity and access management in an enterprise environment (Okta, SSO).

Responsibilities

• Design hosting paths for internal AI apps, bots, and agents including runtime patterns.
• Build model routing to direct tasks across models based on cost and capability with audit trail.
• Stand up observability and per-team cost attribution for AI workloads.
• Integrate identity, access, and security patterns for safe, day-one-ready workflows.
• Collaborate with product AI infrastructure teams to share gateways and telemetry.
• Help shape platform strategy, roadmap, and engineering best practices as a founding member of the infrastructure pillar.
