Figma is growing its AI platform by hiring engineers to build scalable, reliable backend systems for AI features. You’ll contribute to agent infrastructure, context retrieval and ranking, and core AI services to accelerate company-wide initiatives.

You will work with product, research, and infrastructure teams across the organization, mentoring others and promoting engineering excellence while helping shape the platform’s strategy and best practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, backend or infrastructure.
• 3+ years in AI, search infrastructure, or developer platforms.
• Proficiency with TypeScript, Python, or Ruby.
• Strong system design skills with production-grade systems.
• Excellent cross-team communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable AI feature development infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product, research, and infrastructure engineers.
• Shape platform strategy, roadmaps, and engineering best practices.
• Debug and resolve complex production issues across services and layers.
• Mentor engineers and promote collaboration and technical excellence.
