Job summary

Vanta is hiring a Senior Manager, AI Corporate Engineering to lead a senior team that builds the internal AI platform. You will own the AI access layer, cost engineering, MCP layer, and the paved path for internal apps, ensuring safe, scalable adoption of AI across Vanta.

You will partner across Engineering, Security, Data, Finance, and People to define ownership and enablement, fostering responsible AI usage while delivering measurable impact.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in platform, infrastructure, or systems engineering, including 3+ years managing and developing engineers.
• Hands-on technical depth across LLM platform tooling, agent and MCP architecture, identity and OAuth, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and grow a senior team spanning platform engineering and technical program management.
• Own the AI access layer end to end: identity and authentication for AI tools, allowlisting, tiered permissions by function, and guardrails.
• Own AI cost engineering: attribution to teams, right-sizing models, traceability of agent cost, and budget alerts with Finance.
• Own the MCP layer end to end, including governance, decommissioning, and migration impact assessment.
• Own the paved path for internal applications: golden-path deployment, private-by-default, lifecycle and decommissioning policy, and build-versus-buy framework.
• Build the enablement layer: a skills/agent registry, an evaluation framework for internal AI usage, and sanctioned tools enablement beyond provisioning access.
• Write and hold the charter: define ownership and enablement, and convene cross-functional forum to coordinate AI efforts.
• Partner across Engineering, GRC, Security, Data, Finance, and People to influence rather than override.
